Best Day Ever

The website for our fledgling iPad magazine Open Field went up today.

It’s early days and there is a lot of work ahead of us, but it’s exciting, and I love that we’re working on something that will bring some good, however small, to another person’s life.

    Hi Kristen,
I notice you wrote an article some time ago about a raid on Darwin, 2 May 1943, known as raid 54.
My father was in the RAAF HQ at the time and confided in me that most of the 14 spitfires lost that day actually ran out of petrol, far more than actually recorded officially. Today I managed to access the secret files held on this disaster and they are rather conflicting as one might expect, considering how embarrassing the episode was.

I’d really like to talk to you and possibly get a copy of your article.

    Regards,

    Simon

    • Hi Simon
That article sounds fascinating but I didn’t write it. There is another Kirsten Alexander out there who does write articles about military history – I’ve seen her mentioned here and there on the web. I’ve never met her though.
I hope you manage to track her down and get a reply!
      All the best
      The Other Kirsten
